Description of a place
The lovely village of Cis, part of Zblewo district, is situated in the Bory Tucholskie area, at a distance of 80 km from Gdańsk. The most convenient way to get there, from Zblewo or Bytonia, is by following the picturesque forest routes. In the neighbouring area you can find a multitude of postglacial lakes. Pieszczenko lake, with a surface area of 2.42 hectares, and the biggest postglacial lake, Kazubskie lake –16.49 ha, are situated in the immediate vicinity of the village. They are not only perfect for swimming or sailing, but they are also a real fishing paradise.
The pine forests are rich in berries and mushrooms. Full of the scent of resin, the forests form a noise barrier and have a wonderful microclimate. The neighbouring meadows are a home for flocks of cranes - this, in terms of nature, is a sign of the exceptionality of the area. An old roadside cross and 150-year-old cottages add to the beauty of the village. Its inhabitants are friendly and welcoming and keep up the world-famous Polish tradition of hospitality.
